Had my trans. rebuilt two months ago and just hooked it up to my Auto-X scanner for something else and noticed that the torque converter wasn't locking. Is this electrical or mechanical in nature? Either way I guess it's back to the rebuilder. Thank goodness for warranties. Thanks in advance, Robert
Since your scanner can't actually tell if the clutches in the torque converter are engaging but rather reads the electrical signal causing them to do so, I'd guess the problem is electrical.

Make sure they replaced the front pump. The TCC bore can wear causing leakage past the valve and a no lock-up condition.
Thanks for the input. It's a 4L60E and they put in Red Eagle kevlar bands. Two days after picking it up one of the soft lines that they used to install the new cooler with was cut by the bad flare job that they did. I lost over 4 quarts of fluid before I noticed that all the smoke was from ME. They cleaned up and repaired the line but I didn't know if this may have caused the torque converter problem. Well, first chance I get it's back to them to check it out. Thanks again, Robert
Well you can rule out the VSS because a 4L60E will not shift with out one AT ALL!
Many things can cause your issue. Yes the pump can but None of you ever want to pay for a new one So SONNAX came up with a bore kit to fix it. Then again there are a few bore in the Aluminum Valve body that will cause many strange issues.
94 was a NON-PWM year so lock up is just on and off. many of thiese issue do not affect 94s like they do 95 up cars.
Being you are not seeing a Signal in the data stream it is more then likely going to be an electrical issue.
Coolant Temp sensors(engine and trans) can cause this along with mis fire issues.
