When my car gets warm the throttle starts to get stiff.Only at the very first hint of movement. It's kinda like it needs to much pedal effort to move it initially.
I am thinking the throttlebody thingy is out-of-round?
The pedal needs lubed somewhere?.
Seems to be a common problem especially on high milage cars.I just sent my t-body out to get bored out to 52mm and have shaft bearing upgrade. My cable and pedal are free and also had high idle problem. This should do the trick!
Wait a minute if the throttle blades close too far they can stick in bore.
turn the base idle screw in just a bit to open them slightly should cure it.
If you turn the screw you could mess up the min idle adjustment..
You could clean out the carbon build up and lube it inside and out
if you dont want to have it rebuilt. Thats what I did and it works fine.
I sprayed the TB down and took some 400 grit sandpaper and gently
sanded the TB side with the blades holding the paper down just enough to remove the thin layer of carbon that was there.. It cleaned up nicely and doesn't stick.. Otherwise, just get new bearings put in.
BBK 52mm throttle bodies are notorious for this also. Use the same sandpaper routine that unriced explanined to remove a little bit of the metal off the plates (or whatever they're called).
