Default LT1/LT4 differences?

This is probably a big time stupid noobie question, but where can I find info on the difference between these two engines, c.r., camshaft, heads, etc? Thanks in advance!

There are a couple of folks who may be able turn you on to a link or provide a more complete list, but starts with these:

heads
cam
intake
compression ratio
valves

the specifics will follow, I am sure, but the net is an "under-rated" 30 more HP from the LT-4.

[edit] see you got the link before I even got done typing!

If you decide on a manual car and can afford a later one, go for the '96 LT4. It's a no brainer, really. In actuality, they put out around 350 HP.

After doing a little web surfing, I came up with this link, that is awesome! It even has links to flow numbers, etc at the bottom of the page http://www.malcams.com/legacy/misc/LT4.htm
I guess I should have surfed before I asked the question :o

No harm no foul... if you don't ask how are you ever going to find an answer? The LT4 was a different motor all together. It had forged crank and pistons, I think the rods were stronger, higher compression, different cam profile, 1.6 rockers, better springs, better coil, higher flow heads and intake design. That is not to say that the LT1 is a bad motor... GM just liked to end the model runs with a bang... the LT4, Collector's Editions, and GS cars were that bang.

Come to think of it... did they do anything special when they ended the C5 line?

They did the Z16 option which had a carbon fiber hood and the silver/red stripes, which were decals...not painted on. It looks pretty gool...but not as distinct as a Grand Sport, and no special engine (except for the LS6 in the Z06)

Cool... thanks! It is kind of a shame that the C5 run did not end in the same fashion as the C3 & C4 lines. Oh well I guess.
