Well, some things are just not worth the effort. Like changine the base radio to bose. But since my car has a salvage title, there is no monetary reason for keeping it original.
I was wondering ...since my ac manual controls seems to be broken (wont shut the compressor clutch off), maybe I could change this to the digital type?
Does anyone know what is involved or has anyone ever done it? I know there are some color changes from earlier models. Mine is a 96.
There must be hundreds/thousands of these parts laying around from wrecked cars. What parts are needed? Is the wiring all there to accomodate this swap?
Once again, any help is appreciated.
Thanks.

I think it would be a very difficult swap. You need the in-dash controller, the under dash programmer and the wiring harness changes at a minimum. You also need to install the electric servo that runs the hot-cold air diverter. I don't know if the other vacuum controlled diverters are the same. In addition, it is difficult to work under the dash. If I were you, I would just fix the manual unit. I don't think the auto feature is worth much.

It is too much work for what it is. Mine gave me quite a headache a few years back. After spending a lot of money and time it now works great. But fixing your current manual system would be far less work and cash involved. Also converting to the Bose system would be a mistake as well. With the money you would spend on that, you could just go ahead and piece together a much better aftermarket system. So if I were you I'd scrap the C68 climate control idea and just update the stereo, (or scrap both ideas and just make the car faster )

Honestly I wish my car had the manual controls. I'm one of the advocates of simpler is better, less is more kinda guy. I figure the digital has a much greater chance of breaking in the long run. Also having a non bose system would be a blessing in my eyes too! Easy to upgrade w/o having to replace everything!
I think my perfect C4 Corvette would be a 92-96 6spd Z51 w/ no Fx-3, no digital A/C, no Blose, and non power seats. Less to break easy to play with. Just my opinion.
The digital control is a piece of crap. Stick with manual; I wish mine had it.
And just to answer you question, there is waaaaay too much different to attempt a conversion.
