adjusting trans cable on 92auto

adjusting trans cable on 92auto

i think my trans cable needs adjustment. when i put it in o-d i have to pull it down a lil to drive. then it will go into o-d. any idea how to adjust this and is that what u think it is?

I would take it to the dlr to hard to explain.
You have an ASR system.

Sounds like your shift linkage to me. If you look under the car on the drivers side, you'll see where the cable attaches to the tranny. Check to make sure there isn't a lot of play with the cable. The end of the shift cable is held onto the lever with a cotter pin - make sure it's not loose.

If everything checks out, I would let a transmission professional have a look at the linkage at the tranny itself.

This is not the TV cable - there is no need to adjust it.
