I have a stock 1984 vette w/ stock tires & rims but the pass. side seems to be kicked in about 2in, it's not a bent frame, the car was never hit. the wheel just seems to be moved over to one side . Is this norm? People that i have talked to say it is. (true or not)? Any help ?
We have two 84's and this is not a problem with ours. You might want to get a garage to look at it or atleast get a 4 wheel alignment done.
I have seen some vettes like this, but just wanted to know if this is norm. i will have a 4 wheel alignment done , but my car is this not on the road yet still have to finish the inter. and have it painted . Thank you for your feed back.
p.s. what year are the saw blades on your car, i love the way they look and would like to get a set but not sure what year would fit my car.
I think this is common. At least what I have seen here on the forum, but it seems no one notices it until they put on 17x11. Then when the left side sticks out an inch or so and the right is in a little bit they notice. Does it mean nothing is wrong? I don't know, but I know people were calling it normal with zr1 wheels.

Just wanted to know if anyone else has seen this. You have put my mind to rest.

from what I remember... this is common. This was a topic covered in a thread about 2 months ago... but I can't find it to link you to it. There was an explination as to why it was that way, but I can't for the life of me remember what it was.
I have a similar problem, but with front passenger wheel. It seems to stick out a little more than the other side. I have heard that it is a common problem.
First thing you want to do is pull the wheel that is odd and one that isn't and measure the backspacing on both, maybe one is different. Second, pick a fixed point on the rear suspension and measure from there to the outside face of the wheels on that axle, see if there is a difference.
Usually this is a problem with the way the body sits on the chassis, but I've never seen or heard of it being off 2".

My front tires are the same way, the passenger side sticks out more. I didn't notice it until I upsized from 255 to 285 tires on the front.
