developments....

ordered the hal/qa1 front coilover setup to replace the coil over setup on the car.

Installed the vortech maxflow bypass valve

Partially installed the snow alky/h2o injection. I need to test it before I install the nozzle.

Picked up 4 gallons of windshield wiper fluid good to -20*. I have been told that this is 38-40% methyl alcohol.

I'm about to install a 255 in tank pump.

I ordered a used pierberg pump off ebay. Greg @ blowerworks is hard at work compiling fuel pump data and is going to see how it flows. I already shipped him my t-rex's for flow #'s. We'll have to see how everything stacks up. I guess racetronix sent over some gear too, so this will be one of the biggest tests of the year...

Still to come- install blower works vane

install 6 rib belt

blower belt is now off. What a pain.

I got my blower inlet back today. I can't wait to install it with the new vane from Greg. Knowing how long it took me to get the blower off, it'll probably take 3-6 hours or so for me to get it back on and that's if there are no problems. Things are so tight in this engine bay....

I'm also going to replace the 3.12 pulley with a 3.00" reichard racing ultra grip pulley in an effort to remove all belt slip.

where did you get that pulley? 8 rib or 6?

Won't a 3" pulley put you over 50k blower RPM? You're running a S trim V-2, right?

I bought it off a mustang racer. The offsets are the same. I bought and 8 rib in anticipation of upgrading the crank pulley at some point.

The max is 50000 on this blower. I am pretty sure that I have a v1 of the blower, which has a lower step up ratio. I don't think that the v2 step up ratio was out when this blower was purchased (1998). In the long run, I'll probably toss on a t trim on there which has a higher which can really be spun (up to about 70k before it explodes). I know guys running their s trims to upwards of 55k on a regular basis with no failures, so I'm not too worried about going 1-2 k over the limit. The max rpm limits are a little on the conservative side. I know guys with mustangs that run their ys and ysi tims in excess of 75,000 rpm (65k advertised max).

I'm not sure I'd want to be anywhere near a YS at 75k....

Keep in mind that spinning higher impeller speeds isn't going to help unless you car can actually use the air and get it into the cylinder. Otherwise, you'll just be heating it up and increasing the pressure in your intake, not putting more air where it needs to go...

that's very true about boost vs. airflow. My car has a 383 with cnc'd lt1 heads. The air should leave the engine easily too, since it has a 3" exhaust with long tubes. A t trim would really be the better choice on this engine. For now I'm going to spin the S trim hard and cool the boost a little with water/alcohol injection. From what I've heard, the alcohol injection is more resistant to boost than timing so that's why I'm going to give this a try.
