Default lt4 conversion kit?

I posted this in the general discusion part and think that it might have belonged here. I am considering installing the the kit and am wondering if any of you have and what kind of results you got from the install? Any feed back would be great.

So, you have an LT-1/auto in your '96 and want more power?
Save your money.
I don't think the LT-4 is that much faster than the LT-1, at least not enough to justify the $$ for the kit (which doesn't include the bottom-end components to support the slight extra power/rpm)
Just my opinion...

It is a good kit that will make 430 HP @ the crank. If your car is an auto add a 2800 converter, LT headers, 3.73 gears. For a man trans LT headers and 4.10 gears should do the trick. Don't forget to get it tuned.

its a great kit! But it depends what you want!
do you jsut want say 100 more hp or do you want a real kick in the butt and want like 200-250 more?? obviously more kick = more $
if you dont ahve the $ go with the kit its a sure fire way to safely gain about 100 hp over stock lt1 with a tune. make sure you get LTS!

if you want more power go with aftermarket heads and a big cam.
youll get more power but also burn more gas, idle choppier, and spend more. the choice is yours.

the LT4's were under rated, and the conversion kit comes with the hot cam kit as well. That helps quiet a bit too.

This set up with a HOTcam, 52mmTB, long tube headers, and custom program, was tested at the crank @ 425-430hp

thats over 100 hp at the crank!
meaning a huge kcik in the butt!

the lt4s were uncer rated and are faster than stock early c5s!
and with the hot cam its another big boost so yes they do make that much power and more!
