WOW!!!!!
I had better lay some ground work first. Normally, the operating temps on my Corvette (1992 Coupe) at 55 MPH and above were about 194 to 198 degrees. In the last two months, they were edging up to 200 to 202 degrees. I know this doesn't sound like much but when I first bought the car it's normal temps were from 220 to 225. I replaced the original thermostat with a new 180 degree Stant thermostat and things dropped to a more normal range (194 to 198). I had already planned to purchase and install the BMAD not only for the ram air cooling affect but I think it looks good. I installed the BMAD just after Christmas and things really didn't change with the 200 to 202 degrees operating temps (I attribute that to the thermostat not functioning correctly any more - it seemed to be hindering the flow of cooled water). I just installed a new 180 degree thermostat yesterday and took it for a drive last night. the temperature ranged from 178 to 182 @ 55 and above. When I would stop at the stop light, it would start climbing..... got up to 186 and when the light changed.... in less than 1/2 mile it would cycle down to 178 and then equalize at 180/181. Of course, the outside air was about 45 degrees, so the real test will come this summer. Temperatures can run up to 105 degrees during the hottest part of the day so we'll see what happens then.
The BMAD sure seems to work as advertised and I love the way it looks.
