Default Replacing hood release cable....Difficult?

One of my last posts on the forum was about my wife helping me break in the cam in my 85 when she was about 6 months pregnant. Now that my boy is 3 1/2 years old, it's time to get back to working on the car.

One of the first things I have to do is put in a new cable assembly for the hood release. I have the hood open (now), and a new cable assembly to install. I haven't started on it yet, but I was warned it can be a P.I.A. (I've put in a new heater core in my C4, this can't be too bad)
The cable didn't break, but the outer casing of the cable where it rested against the battery deteriorated, I'm assuming from a little battery acid.

Any tips on putting the cable in?

Thanks,
Carl

It's not really that difficult. You have already done the hard part.....getting the hood open

It takes some effort to get the grommet seated where it passes through the firewall, and it can tear pretty easily.

Doesn't sound that bad then.(?)

Yes, getting the hood open took a little time, but I got it by taking off the wheel, fender liner, etc until I could see what was what. Really wasn't that difficult (and I wasn't going to wait a couple days for one of those unlatch tools to get to me), just time consuming.

Thanks,
Carl
