Default Strange connection??

(Posted on the ZR-1 Registry also):

Hey fellow Z lovers, I asked a question about my cooling fans - one coming on with the ignition switch, and someone mentioned a connector "near the firewall" that was capped off.

Hmmmm.....I noticed this (for the first time yesterday) and was wondering what it connector was for, and why was it obviously disconnected? (It isn't left open, but is terminated with some type of plug - looks to be a mod of some sort, no?)

Again, when I get my manuals I promise to end some of these superfluous questions!

Thanks in advance,

P.

That's like a test connector. Some of the ECM pin ins/outs, and a ground, are there. This way you can access the wires to test things without having to pull a ton of stuff. It is supposed to be capped.

One of the pins is the rpm output, I don't remember what else is there.

Jeffvette said basically the same thing (on the ZR-1 Registry)

Again, this board is extremely helpful, due to folks like you and many others.

Thanks again.

Paul.

If I could pull rpm and map off that connector, that'd be a neat way of hooking up the WB O2.
