I want to know how B/J can sell a new car that hasn't even been built and their not a GM Dealer. I would think Kerbeck would have had first shot at the first new ZR1. After the quick hammer on the W/J car and the deal this morning plus all the Valtrex commercials I'm glad it's over!

well Im going to guess that GM sold the First production ZR-1 at BJ along with old friend jay leno to help it along.

Why would kerbeck get the first shot if GM is using this as free advertisment. and It was did you see the room everyone was on their feet when the ZR-1 came on stage.

THe black '67 L89 seemed to a go little quick too. B-J didn't even explain the L89 was 1 of 16 which makes it more rare than the L88. They did make sure you knew every details on a Mustang...Oddly Ford sponsored the auction....

Fords seemed to be hot this year...a few years ago Hemis were the rage...but didn't Dodge used to sponsor the show?

Answer: There are auction houses in this business who have a reputation for "making markets" for cars. No names mentioned.

Sadly, all major car auctions are somewhat rigged to cater to the big buyers. Both quick and slow gavels take place to favor big hitters. I used to travel all over the country to these events to buy. Never was successful at any major auction. Got locked out when close. I view them as car shows. Not the place to buy the car of your dreams.

to me its a legal rip off on many of the sellers. look at the hemi cars this year. many of them went at 40-50 less than just a year ago . watch what happens in the next year or 2 .bet they go back to their old selling price of 200 300 k. the auctions are really only good if one is looking for a nicely done car to be used as a driver not a show queen as many can be bought for a fraction of their build cost.

I hear it cost both the buyer and seller some mucho$$$$ to BJ. They get it both ways....and now with speed channel they get free ads....what feeds them is greed and money. I thought it was really sorry when the CEO out bid a guy on the floor for the new dodge and then promised not to bid again, and then he ended up buying the car anyway. Plus they get a % of the sale on almost all of the charity cars. SLEEZY......

they get 10 percent off each sideunless its an internet buyer then its 12%. so basicly they get 20% of every dollar. so this year they made about 15 million dollars not counting consessions . thats only this one then there is palm beach and vegas. draw your own conclusions
