Our ZR1s are still the fastest production car for 24 hours.
Anybody can do 1/4 mile, try 5000 miles at 175 MPH.

It's all we've got left, but seriously, I'd like to see the new ZR1 take back the unlimited 24 hour record.

24hrs + supercharger = heat soak ???
The LS9 isn't an aftermarket kit engine. GM has put it through at least 200 continuous hours (and possibly 400 hours) at full throttle on a dyno cycling between peak torque RPM and peak HP RPM every 5 minutes in a sawtooth pattern. I don't think 24 hours will be a problem for the engine/heat soak...I'd be more worried about the transmission, differential, and wheel bearings but only because I don't have any info as to how much they can tolerate.

If the LS9 did the 400 hour test then it reached the LT5 standard.

No...we hae the Bughatti Veyron ahead of the vette still...what is it though? Just a 1.6M dollar 16Cylinder Quadruple Turbocharged 250+ MPH straight line beast. The ZR1 will smoke on a road course, which is hopefully where it will shine. I'm satisfied if we can just stay on top of the Viper.

No, Shelby Supercars is. This was run in my backyard.

On a temporarily-closed 2 lane public highway in Washington State, the SSC Ultimate Aero posted a top speed of 257.11 mph (413.83 kph) on its first pass and 254.55 mph (409.71 kph) on its return pass, achieving a new top speed record: a staggering 255.83 mph (411.76 kph).

sometimes its not all about being the fastest sometimes its about having style.

Plenty of cars out there are faster than corvettes.

The only time speed is a factor is when it saves your *** in combat other than that its only for fun.
