Very exciting to say the least. But it is clearly evident that the hp is there for a record if we can stay hooked up.

Currently working on a prototype of a larger throttle body in the hope of a few more hp.

Oh and a big shout out to Jerrys Gaskets, we lost a freeze plug out the back of one of the heads during a run, the motor got smoking hot but the Head gaskets held!!

Hi Dave,
Thanks for the head gasket comments. Hearing feedback is great, but at your level of exotic engineering and sustained high rpm, topped off with a overheated engine its the ultimate confirmation. I'm proud to be a small part of the quest. You've got a great team & I know this year will be the record you all have worked so hard for (Lord willin' & the creeks don't rise).

We've gotten just under 450" of snow so far this year, at the 'Bird...it all needs to melt into that valley.

It should dry up by mid July though...an fingers crossed for minimal rain for that time frame.

Well time to update this thread, as we are now ready to get back on the salt for speed week August 10-17. This years improvements are a one off single blade throttle body at 68mm and more Hp on Corey's tune. In addition we hope to have better flow dynamics and the possibility of a small increase in boost at top speed.

I hope it does as the 372 cubic inches moving up and down at 8200 rpm moves a lot of air thru custom cams, ported heads, 2 inch primary's, 3 1/2 collector, 4 inch x pipe twin 4 inch ovals to the back of the car, so I expect 1 psi of boost at 230 mph whould be a good thing, as the best we saw with the old set up was 1/2 psi at best.

Dave,
please strap a Go Pro on that thing and stream your adventure live! I'd love to be there, but not this year. Hope the cams give you that extra HP to break the record.

From a few years back, mid 225 mph run. Shows how long it takes for the safety guy to show up, and then eventually the push truck and crew chief.

Good to hear the car was sorted well, conditions are sort of a game of luck.

Looked like the car went straight without much driver input, sounds awesome, stick with it, you can do it

best I could do was 212 at mile 2 then peddled to 200 and back to 212 out the 5 mile, This video will show you how loose the track was in the middle.

If 1 psi of boost is generated by the new design does that equate to about 40 to 50 hp at or near the top speed you will reach?

Regardless... it is super cool to see these pictures and videos of this car reaching for the record! Thanks !
