In the same vein, Paul does Mr Haibeck say if we should use something like the paste that is used to bed PC processors to the heat sink? The FSM says to use dielectric grease. Now I'm wondering what to use when I replace my DIS.
TIA
Tom, if you haven't already found the stuff, it is the white (zinc oxide) goop you can get at Radio Shack and other electronic outlets; heat sink compound.
One thing tho...it has to be put on thin - enough to make a thin film on the mating parts to fill the microscopic gaps between surfaces. Any more and the stuff looses efficiency. Expect a thin line to ooze out as the screws are tightened. But, if you have the stuff coming out in drips...take the DIS off and remove some of the goop - make the layer thinner - and put them together again.
Oh...Sorry it took so long to reply, Tom. I missed your inquiry and didn't run across it till I was doing a search on another topic.:o

Reason: tpyo :-)
Glad you got this resolved, since your DIS was faulty, i am looking at repairing these and wonder if you sell it to me for $100.00 as a possible unit to dissasemble and repair.

Yes. I can sell faulty DIS module. I have no use for it.
