9 quarts plus or minus, but let it drain overnight. I use Mobil One synthetic 10w-30 and a Bosch 3401 I believe.

Project 98

Without Filter Change - 7.6 quarts
With Filter Change - 8.6 quarts
With Oil Cooler Drain and New Filter 10.6 quarts
Complete System Drain (after engine rebuild) 11.6 quarts

I'm sure this will change if you have any after market oil cooler.

Haibeck suggest - Amsoil

A lot of us use Amsoil AMO due to its high zinc/phosphorus content which is needed due the cam to bucket design of the LT5.

High ZDDP content is not "needed" for the LT5...there are many modern DOHC engines with the "cam and bucket" design and they have zero problems with modern SAE SM oils even at 8000+RPM. As a percentage, the amount of people using Amsoil AMO here is small. Run what you want but please don't contribute to the "ZDDP" hysteria.
