7-8k for zr-1s ? You mean pos zr-1s involved in accidents, paint jobs 7 owners and a billion miles driven by a grandma to church on Sunday's only. Zr-1s that need another 10k in work?
There are a lot of stories of people stealing cars for low prices, sometimes it's true, most times an old wives tail. The worst is at a car show.
My bro in law bought the rarest zr-1 with the blue engine , 1 of 1 cars for 2000 bucks. I had 1 too with the jones Dunn smith heads but I sold it, wasn't fast enough for me lol

I don't think the lowest price always reflects the sellers motivation for selling at a low price. Their a several factors that determine the price a ZR-1 sells for, or any car for that matter.
Try this one on for size. My Smog guy tells me a while back that one of his customers came in with a 94 LT-1 red convertible. Guess what he paid for it ?
How about $800? It was at an estate sale and the children ( hiers ) disposing of the estate were from back east. They simply wanted to get rid of the Vette that day so they could get on with their lives and didn't really care what it sold for as long as they got something for it now. Ray, my smog guy said the Vette was like a brand new car.
Makes you want to get up early and look around at estate sales doesn't it ?

I paid 10.2K for my old 92. 114K Miles * Sold the car 1 1/2 years ago. I did all the following 1)Complete engine reseal and new main bearings. Done by previous owner with engine removal.
2) Replacement Transmission syncros gone on first and second. (clutch was okay)
3) Work on secondairys needed several parts
4) Replacement Airdam
5) Replacement Brake master
6) Weak front spring
7) New stock radiator
8) Numerous small things like Seat motors bad windscreen de-lamination ect ect.
Reason for selling was engine was in need of overhaul 1 bad cylinder.
After all this work, the car just sold for 10K

His name is Ray... he owns Jefferson Smog in Murrieta, Ca. Why would he lie to me? He isn't into Vettes. He knows I am so he told me about it figuring I would listen... Hell, people give homes, property cars, and boats to the Salvation Army and other charities.

It was # 334. The only reason I sold it was the exterior color. I wasn't going to buy it until I drove it. OMG ! torque in spades and very tight compared to my 35th Anniversary I was driving. Part of the test drive was in a heavy rain storm... and no leaks. I had to have it !

Drifting
The cheapest I have seen here in Hawaii last year was a 90 Lingenfelter with 100K on the odometer, but about 50K since the LPE rebuild and it was red/red for $7K.
The other one was a 94 green/tan with 44K miles and a fire sale for $10K. A Building Contractor in debt and needed to liquidate assets.
Both were excellent buys and I tried to buy both, but was a work and they sold in less than an hour on Craig's list. Hawaii has a very poor market for Zs and like the 93 Anniversary Ruby that has been for sale since 2003.

Safety Car
Is that the car on the ZR1 Net? I was thinking about buying that car. It needs a paint job, correct?
