Really? Tell the truth. All we had to do was stick "wooky" on her, and we passed the metal detectors.

Had you done a better job as the lookout I would have been successful in getting a decent copy of the sheets for car 1406 ( who owns this 1990?). Yet again you failed to complete your mission.

I was reading through this thread last evening. Very interesting. Seems like lawyers at GM are afraid of being sued for ZR1's not making advertised ratings. It really is stupid. Not the first time this happened in their history. I can't remember which engine it was. Could have been some of the Pontiac W72 400's of the 77-79 period, 454 Corvette engines of the 70-74 era, or possible the 3.8 Litre Buick turbo V6's of the 79-86 time period. Anyway not like GM has not fudged horsepower ratings in the past. Most of the time it was to help lowering insurance ratings by using a lower rating. The first 66 L72 427 Corvettes had a 450 rating and were soon lowered to 425. GM in this era of the 60's and early 70's underrated many engines. My thoughts are why not a lawyer who possible owns a ZR1 sue GM over lower H.P. ratings. They are paranoid this might happen if the docs are released to owners. So do exactly that sue them. Then just maybe a judge will either release the dyno papers or say that too much time has gone by and throw it out of court. Worth a try. I think if I was GM that would be my defense. Too much time has gone by. Leave it to corporate lawyers to fear being sued after so many years. I know that many people have claimed over the years that not all engines make advertised power. Some owners of vehicles would say that their car seemed to run better than others like it. Remember the claims of some LT4 owners. The LT4 made near early 90-92 LT5 power. Recently I was looking at some chassis dyno charts of modified and stock LT4 engines. Some seemed to make a bit more than others. You can view it over at the Grand Sport Registry if interested.
