I purchased EASE Diagnostic software in hopes of replacing the older Diacom software. It appears to be a nice package but I am having problems with it. I used it on a 1991 car with no problems. When I put it on a 1993 model the software is causing a code to be set in the ASR softare. It is a code 72 with is a problem with the serial port and the onboard ASR code. If any of you have ever dynoed a car you know an ASR code will kill the seconday activation which makes tuning awfully hard if you know what I mean.
my EASE turns the service ASR light on too. but it doesn't seem to cause any problems with recording the sensors. not sure why it does that. it resets OK when I remove the ALDL cable. overall I really like EASE!!!
Hmmm,,, I didn't know the ASR code prevented the secondaries from opening. does this still happen with the ASR switched off???
might explain my low dyno numbers but honestly, my car did seem to open the secondaries even with EASE hooked up because on one run they forgot to turn the power key on. we could definitely tell the difference. the car did at least pull 379 HP, which seems low for a 475 LPE car. car ran pretty rich too!! AF was 11.3 to 11.8. way fat. this could explain things as the car runs pretty strong normally. I will try another dyno without it.
