Pics would help or a link to some. Also most people arent willing to pay alot more for new motors, even as nice as yours sounds. You can prob get what an LT-4 is going for, around $20,000 would be good prob. Depends on how fast you want to sell it. What your asking is a 50% down payment on a new C-5.
Hope this helps and I could be full of sh*t.

Where might I find an LT4 for 20,000? I'll be there with checkbook in hand and take home a few dozen [img]http]//www.corvetteforum.cc/ubb/eek.gif[/img]

Normally I would agree that $26,000 is high for a stock vette or even a LT-4 vette. But lets put the figures down...
You figure that you spend $18,000 for the car. Then you want to buy a 383 motor, you would spend $10-$15k, depending on the type of heads, pistons, crank, rods, etc... I shouldn't even have to mention the little things that would have to be purchased, computer programming, pulleys, ram air, throttle body, ported mass air, headers, exhaust, etc...
You would also have to spend about $2,000-$2,500 on the built Trans., and stall, plus another $2,000 for the rear.
Now you add this up and you come up with almost $20,000 worth of extras, and this doesn't include the misc parts... $20,000 + the price of the car = $38,000.. Now you take half off the cost of the motor, Trans, and rear and you still come up with $28,000... And I'm asking for $26k.
I have AFR head that have been fully worked and and set up from AFR with 2.05/1.65 valves... custom ground cam. Stroker kit came from Callies with every upgrade available, rods, piston, bearing, etc... If someone is interested I will be glad to go more indepth..
Did I mention that there is an N2O kit on the car. (Bottle has not been hooked up yet, still haven't sprayed, because I'm selling it...)
The car runs mid 11's on the motor, Your not going if find a stock C-5 that will run with this car... (and I've raced an LS-6)...

Just as an FYI, a buddy of mine was looking at a LT4 last week at a local dealership used car lot. He had them down to $18K for it. Had 71K miles on it, was in decent shape but the AC compressor needed replacement and a few other little issues. Not a cherry ride, but I've seen other LT4 cars in the area for less than $20K as well.

I'm sure you can find a LT4 for that price... Never doubted it.. But the people who try to compare an LT4 350 and a 383 are down right ignorant. 330hp compared to close to 500hp. (The difference in an LT4 and LT1 is primary the heads, cam, and intake.) If you want to get technical, my motor is not an LT1 anymore... But anyway... My statement stands as before... Find a car with these options that price.. Good Luck...

Just curious as to how many miles on the actual car and what options the car has. Would you be willing to sell the engine seperatly (I dont known if you still have the stock one to put in or not). Thanks in advance

The car has 66k actual miles. It is pretty much has the basics. I think that only thing it doesnt have is the sport ride suspension.
I would be willing to sell the motor outright, but I dont have anything to put in its place. If we could come up with some kind of solution, then I would be willing to consider it.
The car is going to be gone next week, no matter what. If I have to, I will trade it in. It would be a shame to do it, because I know that someone would really enjoy this car.
If anybody is really interested, they should speak up now...

Well I'm trading my car in on Saturday, so if anybody wants it then let me know... The dealer is giving me $18,000, so anything above that takes it...

Wow, anything over $18,000 for your ride - now that sounds too good to pass up! I cannot consider it for myself as I just purchased a vette, BUT somebody is going to have some fun with that much HP!!!
I would hate to see a dealer get away with murder and then sell it for $26,000!
Best of luck to you Strtracerx.
