1994 DRM 480, black 44,000 miles for sale
1994 DRM480, 44,000 miles, 486hp, over 480fpt. The entire car was built by Doug Rippie Motorsportsin Minnesota. ZR1 brakes, suspension, wheels, grand sport fender flares, road race style 6pt roll bar. Simpson harnesses. Motor is naturally aspirated 383ci. With every thing you can do to an LT1. The car was test run at the track when built but I have never had it there, 11.70 on a drag radial, over 200mph top end. I have also installed the 1996 side skirts behind the front tires, so it looks like a 1996. black on black with black removable top
MOTOR
383 forged stroker crank, ultra light Billet stroker rods, JE lightweight forged pistons, plasma moly file fit rings, performance engine bearings, high volume oil pump, cylinders bored oversized, cylinders torque plate honed, cylinder block square decked, line honed main bearings, balanced rotating assembly, ported cylinder heads, ported intake plenium, high flow stainless valves, heavy duty valve springs, titanium spring retainers, chrome molly pushrods, 1.6 intake and 1.5 exhaust full roller rocker arms, DRM solid roller Cam, high performance timing set, 1000cfm throttle body. K&N air filter, modified air filter lid, high volume fuel pump, adjustable fuel pressure regulator, high flow fuel injectors flow balanced, custom ECU calibration. All this for $15,000
Center force high performance clutch single mass clutch flywheel assembally is 20 pounds lighter than stock. $595
373 ring and pinion. $495. Plus installation
ZR1 brake conversion. $895 plus installation
ZR1 suspension conversion with upgraded shocks
ZR1 rims, 17 x 9.5 front, 17 x 11 rear, 275’s in front and 315’s in rear. Rims are $390 each and chrome is about $300 a piece
Fabricated long tube headers. $950
6 point roll bar and installation $1400
Simpson 5 point harness for driver
Flowmaster exhaust $700
All of these figures do not include installation, when all was said and done the car had more than 30 thousand dollars of work done to it.
The entire car was built by DRM. The motor kit is called the DRM480. The cam is a big solid roller, but it will idle in 95 degree weather with the AC on. It also has 373 gears. But all the info is on the DRM page at http://www.dougrippiemotorsports.com. Some of the info like for the roll bar, suspension, rear, brakes my be hard to find since DRM in more focused on the C5 now. But I have all the receipts. The whole car was shipped to DRM and came back as you see it. The motor upgrades alone back then cost like 15,000. The car makes 486hp at the crank and 480+fpt. . Trust me this thing is top of the line. Only Mobil one, and redline lubricants everywhere. of course it is a 6 speed.
Full length custom headers, flowmaster exhaust, no converters, but car is set up so you can just bolt them back in for an emissions test. converters come with the car. The car runs a few degrees hotter with the converters in but you just take them out as soon as you get it done.
It has some really big fuel injectors, but it still gets 20 to 25 highway mpg.
I have had no problems with this car what so ever, DRM is in my opinion the best Corvette builder in the country, just check out his website for more info. Also feel free to contact Peter Silkilo at DRM for verification of what the car has. This car is very fast, faster than a viper, C5, ZR1, or Z06. Unless it is another DRM car it has no chance. I have never taken the car to the track. This car is only my weekend toy. I rarely drive it and am tired of seeing it sit in my garage. I am selling it because I am going over sees for a few years and I don’t want it sitting
