Default Looking for inexpensive C5

hey guys, I go a military college and the year is coming to an end, so I would love to get out and find my dream car. I don't have a ridiculous amount to spend, so anything affordable will work; I don't care if it needs work or what. I have a 2004 expedition XLT that I am trying to sell or will throw on with cash. Please let me know if you guys have something that will work! Thank you so much

Would help people to know more

you looking for auto or manual?
modded or stock?
high miles ok? (with inexpensive mentioned that might be where to look)
what state do you live in?
are you willing to travel or get shipped or only looking for local stuff?

Auto, manual doesn't matter. I live in South Carolina and I am willing to travel. High miles are expected, not a big deal to me.

You might want to list what affordable means to you. $10k, $20k, $30k?

Today's lesson: there's no such thing as an inexpensive, once highly-advanced or exotic automobile. Oft times in fact, the one you spend less for up-front ends up costing far more than than the higher priced examples one might have selected- often even in the short term.

What should you take from today's lesson? Be careful out there.

Default $10k range

I'm not saying necessarily cheap, just around $10k. There are some out there, and I have just missed them.

norm and everyone else out there make some good points

be careful of the $6-7k cheap Vette that cant be test driven because owner suddenly can't start and says he doesn't have time to investigate.

there are plenty of c5s in LA for $8-12k and can probably negotiate them down a bit with rapport in person once you see and agree on any small defects

I have a 2000 C5 Auto with only 86K miles for sale. HUD and targa top car. Completely stock front to back minus C6 z06 replica wheels. Just had valve cover gaskets replaced, driver front tie rod end and battery replaced at dealer. Over 1k in repairs on 3/12/17. Rear tires are in great shape but the fronts will need replaced soon. 275/35/18 rear and 245/40/18 Front.

Little bit of clear coat peeling on front bumper and a decent size scratch also on front bumper. Other than that body is in good shape. The interior is in great shape minus the driver seat having a tear in it.

Have 4 brand new in box sway bar end links to go with car. Sail panel and targa top were just wrapped in gloss black vinyl 2/17/17.

Great platform to start with. Clean blue texas title in hand.

14000 Price is OBO. Call or text for more info. 3092223076.

Agree but;

"Did the work myself no paperwork." How about receipt for parts?

"Tuned" Talk to the tuner.

Get those cover, looks like a very good deal.

I agree.....If that '02 Z06 is as advertised, that's a pretty darn good deal for the money!

OP, if that Z06 doesn't interest you, this 1999 seems decent for the price. $6850 with only 80K miles, Borla exhaust. Looks like he's negotiable too! This one is a great deal if it's as advertised. Looks like a very nice original car in the pics. They don't get much cheaper than this unless you start looking at project cars. I have no affiliation.

Mitch .. Give is an idea about what you want to spend. No sense responding if we a miles apart. I have a 2000 Torch Red, Stock all around, 68000 miles. She has a few nicks and scratches but no bangs and never been hit. I want 10K for it.

Seems like the 2 Torch Red options offered would be a good fit with location and budget..

I am wanting to be able to trade my 04 Expedition XLT, original owner. I can only work during the summer because I go to a military college, and need to pay it completely off within this time. $10k has been my goal and I have seen a few, but hard to try and trade.
