You can use your windsheild washer resevoir as the Tank, so no you don't have to relocate the battery, and I believe you are actually referring to Alcohol injsection, Some people mix it with water and call in methanol I guess, but you can buy denatured alcohol at any hardware store, or have a fuel distributor ship you some, but you will most likely pay a lot more that way.
hope that helps.
CH3OH...methanol, as opposed to CH3CH2OH...ethanol...better to drink!
Methyl hydrate (also called methanol, methyl alcohol or wood alcohol) is a colourless liquid with a light alcoholic smell that sometimes has a colouring agent added to it. It helps prevent freeze-up during winter months.
Do you know if there's any problem with evaporation if you use straight methanol? Just curious.
None concerning storage of it as it's in an enclosed container (mostly closed...vented to relieve pressure).
And actually in it's use the evaporative properties can be beneficial when it's injected as it will atomize far better than when mixed with water and even if there's some spillage to a small leak it's best that it evaporates before it combusts.
I have a methanol/water injection system and mix it 50/50. I use the windshield washer tank so I can still use it to wash my windshield if necessary. I buy the methanol at a local race shop for $5 a gallon and go through about one tank of meth/water to every tank of gas depending upon my driving style.
