Default What to do?

Have a couple of questions. I am going to a 370 froged Iron block with a 244/248 cam. I want to spray to stages to equal a 300 shot.1.)What size injectors do i need? 2.) Will i have to go to a smaller shot since i have been told to go direct port because the Ls6 intake can only handle 200 shot. Though i spoke with Brent at Tea and he said i could push a 250 shot through an Ls6 intake. Im getting different numbers from different tuners. 3.) Can this cam take a 300 shot?4.) With this setup on the 370 Iron block, stage three Ls6 heads, that size cam and some good headers will it have a capability of pushing 500 to the wheels. And last who has the best price on installation. so far i got a quote of almost 2500 dollars just for tunning and installation. Id this good?

First its not the LS6 intake that cannot take the shot. Before we get into this lets hold a bit of nitrous 101. N2O and gasoline repel each other chemically. It is necessary to atomize the mix through a fogger if you intend to add it to your cylinders. If you dont have enough vaccuum in your manifold (too little RPMs) it is possible for the mix to separate. You want to minimize the distance the mixture has to travel as much as possible.

With that being said.... A single IceMan Pro solenoid is only rated at for a 150 shot with AN-4 line. It is possible to do a 200 but you are pushing it.

If I were you I would do a direct port set up with a progressive controller. This will allow you to minimize your mixture distance to prevent puddling, and it will also ensure that you are evenly distributing your nitrous into each cylinder. Here is a pic of my direct port.

This is good up to a 300 shot, but I have 2-iceman pro solenoids.

With up sized injectors [injector size=(bhp x bsfc (usually .5) / no. of Injectors x .8 (duty cycle), so for instance, 600hp X .5 / 8 x .8 = 46.875lbs hr min.], I'd think about a 1st stage dry hit followed by a 2nd stage wet. That way you minimize the lean spike and also the torque spike. Also, some guys run a 200/300hp dry without the puddling problems the wet can have. That's the real problem, these intakes were designed to be dry, not wet. But many run wet with no problems, so with the odds somewhat in the favor of dry, we have to consider this. Now direct port can be made to work well also with the bigger hits. I like to say Knowledge is power, and only you can decide what's best for your set-up.

Sure can, as a dry complete kit can be had for around $500. Another benifit is you can have your first stage armed all the time and only engage 2nd when wanting ***** to the wall. Here's a good link with good info.
