I believe mike brown and his partner did it on a CETA T/A with an Incon twin turbo kit. They are out of Dayton, Ohio and now have a low 8/ possibly high 7 sec race car now. They have probably one of the top 5 fastest LS1's. These boys seriously know their stuff!!!

Here's some Video footage from US 41 from this past Sunday ...Both cars are StockHeads , Stock Bottom End 346 ci LS1 'S on Motor not Nitrous .. Both cars are running a LGM X4 Cam , My Friend Sean in his Black 2001 Z28 ( Juggernaut 01-Z) gets a little loose and steers to the right and he lifts ...Meanwhile Magnus in his 97 (LS1 SWAP) Runs a 10.344 @128.20 Bringing back the STOCK 346ci Cam only Record back to Chicago.

I plan on doing it (of corse planing is alot diferent than doing it). I also plan on doing it with stock heads, a six speed, and alot of nitrous. The only modification to the bottom end will be rod bolts just because I ain't scared of RPMs 
I am hoping to break the cam only record but it is going to be tough, as stated earlier it is a 10.344. I have some trick stuff going on my car we are developing and you should see the cam I am getting.
