Cool! Would love to see more information about the C5s running 9s on stock internals. Do you have info/links?

Brian Tooley was the first C5. Owner of TEA. Ran NOS. He comes over here occasionally but mainly hangs out over at LS1tech.com

Rob Reymer did it with an F-body for two seasons, stock bottom end, single turbo. The motor had a 130,000 miles on it.

There are least two more, one C5 and one F-body.

I dont think Rob ever went 9s with his stock bottom ended Alky project car.The year before he had a race car that went into the 9s.

Its very rare, and certainly not high on peoples list to do unless you are completly willing to sacrafice any parts bolted to the motor.

Pretty sure he made it into the nines with that car. You are right though, everytime you get on a stock motor like that you got to be thinking. Glass for pistons, rings like wet donuts, rods bolts like bread sticks, gaskets like paper....
B

Did Jeremy Formanto, do his on stock bottom end intially?...He was running a well designed three stage dry 75,100,150. Cannot remember.

I think Johnny P has done it and he has a friend with a f-body with cam and nitrous runnin 9 on stock bottom end. I really dont see why people are laughing also. It is very possible, I also plan on attempting it.

Your engine isn't long for this world if you try it. With 2.73 gears you are just battling yourself and the mechanical advantage just isn't there so I see oil slicks in your future.

Hey what's up Sam ........It's just a matter of puting a Good Combo together while some people spend $$$$$ and can't get there Here's some Video footage from US 41 from this past Sunday ...Both cars are StockHeads , Stock Bottom End 346 ci LS1 'S on Motor not Nitrous .. Both cars are running a LGM X4 Cam , My Friend Sean in his Black 2001 Z28 ( Juggernaut 01-Z) gets a little loose and steers to the right and he lifts ...Meanwhile Magnus in his 97 (LS1 SWAP) Runs a 10.344 @128.20 Bringing back the STOCK 346ci Cam only Record back to Chicago.
