Default S/C Preparation?

I have an '99 A4 Coupe with a stock engine/trans and 3.15 gears. My only performance mods are PRT's and a Blackwing with LG Headers in the very near future. My question is, will the stock engine & tranny handle all the extra power afforded by a typical S/C setup, or do you have to beef things up before hand?
I guess my primary concern would be the transmission, since I imagine the engine is probably quite capable of taking the extra kick.

Motor yes. Trans no, at least if you're talking about an average 500 rwhp ProCharger setup.

Depends on your driving style. If you dont beat on the car, the tranny will hold up. If you are running drag radials and take it to the track, I would say you living on borrowed time.

Trans is definitely the weak link but it can be used for a long time if you do several things.
1. keep street tires on it (they will be the fuse for the entire driveline.)
2. Raise your axle ratio to a minumin of 3.42 (lowers the load on the driveline in front of it.)
3. Stay away from high stall converters (they produce extreme heat in the fluid, heat is your worst nightmare in an automatic.)
4. Start saving for a FLP/Rodney built trans or something along those lines. (cause it isn't IF it's, WHEN it will fail.)
Do not raise the line pressure in excess of 10%.
Personaly I have almost 20,000 mikes on mine with being north of 500 rwhp by doing all of the above and it still feels and shifts like it did brand new.
And do a complete fluid and filter change every 20,000 miles this will also give you a heads up on the condition for the trans internally.

Thanks guys! You're great I figured the tranny might be a problem, and I figured you guys would know for sure. Now I know what I'm up against in terms of mods and cost.
