Spoke to MTI today and the car is not started yet and Jayson left today for a week. Then a week of testing and tuning after that. Jayson did not give them a base tune so they could break in the miles while he is gone. Its getting close but the movie I am in starts on around the 20th of this month so at this point not even sure if I will get the car in the movie.

Is MTI normally this slow or is just because you got a deal? If it makes you feel any better I've been waiting nearly two months for my turbos.

Not sure if they are normally this way or cause I got a deal. Be not being able to be in Texas makes it hard for me to tell. Doesnt make me feel better about your turbos, I dont like to see anyone in pain.
MTI knows I need my car, I missed a car show that I goto every year and get paid for and MTI knew that and comped that much off my bill for missing it. Not many shops will do that. I just need my car.. and just dying to hear that F1C.

Well, I called them twice regarding a dyno tune.

They told me they would call back both times to arrange a time...

Nada....(and they only want $650 for a tune)

I am sure their quality is top rate, but customer service

At least you know they are in demand which is a good thing right!

Good luck with the Movie.

Mike is awesome. I am sure he could have built one quicker. But I went to him, MDMC, ECS, LPE, A&A and MTI gave me the best deal. Good enough to even justify shipping it to Texas. Worked out since the paint shop was there also. MTI does great work they are just overly busy. Chris at ECS has been comforting to talk to along the process as well as I have his brackets.

This may be true in some cases. But I dropped my car off on Monday morning at A&A for a new Motor, D1SC etc.........
When I flew home monday afternoon I left my keys in my pocket. I called Andy on tues afternoon to tell him I overnighted the keys and they would be there on Wed. His response was "Dont Worry"
We got the car in the shop and on the lift already. I all actuality the motor is already out of the car...

So this big shop with 17 C5's in the parking lot took the time to move my car on jacks so they didnt miss their deadline of 10-14 days For a COMPLETE motor, S/C, Drivetrain, Alky, etc...Swap

NOW THATS SERVICE.

Damn, sweet service..you will love it. SICK Power. I dont want to comment on how long mine has taken. But things like I have a VE steering wheel that needs replaced and MTI still has not taken it off and they have had the replacement wheel there for 4 weeks. Jeff that bought my old wheel has been patient. Thanks Jeff.

I have one of Andy's kits and love it. In the event I need major work, I will consider A&A even though I'm in CT... I don't think I've heard anything bad about them. While I've heard good things about a local tuner as well, I've sent them two emails with questions I had about a product I bought from them, both have gone unanswered for weeks now. I had a question for Andy and sent him an email on a Sunday night expecting to hear from him within a day or two... he replied back within 15 minutes. Now that's service that I wouldn't expect, but is nice to see.

I don't think you will be disapointed with your choice to use A&A.

Now calculate your time, frustration, and missed deadlines. Is it all really worth it??? I wouldnt think it is. It may be for you cause of the amount of money you are spending. (Which by the way would probably help lower our federal deficit) but it definately wouldnt be for me.

Good Luck, And be prepared that by the time they are done they will probably have rocket propelled engines available, therefore making all of the money you have spent a waste

Jon, I am in the same boat as you...My 383 stroker F1r project started mid January and had my car delivered to MTI the last of February and STILL my car is not together and all the parts are still not there... No prompt return calls and promises of photos that do not get delivered... I love David to death and I know he is a good guy and if it was not for Chris, I would have lost my mind.....My project quote was for two weeks, which would have been around mid march. I missed the April 30th street race shootout which was my whole purpose of this build to race with some of my mustang and viper buddies. Now, I was told that Chris is no longer at MTI... I am very concerned because he was always honest to me and tell me when my car would get bumped to a more important customer.. and I can accept honesty. I think that honesty gave him job trouble. HOWEVER, I do know that whenever we get our cars back they will be done right and perform excellently. Jayson has a thing for perfection on his work and tunes... I saw that personally... They are just having a problem with success and growth which can be difficult to keep up with and can ruin you if you don't manage it.

Sorry to hear it is taking so long Jon but as stated above. Was the deal worth it? Hopefully everything works great for you for a long or another trip to Texas and another long wait. Sometimes it is just better to pay asking price to get the service and performance you want.

Curious as to which movie and what show also?

That is cool. Over 10k on the paint....I can't wait to see this paintjob. Honestly if you are saving over 10k on the paint, sponsorship from Vette Essentials, free stuff from ECS, and huge hook up from MTI then a bit of lag time is to be expected.

i spent a three hours at MTI the other day waiting for a scheduled dyno pull. Apparently they're like doctors. they schedule four people for the dyno at exactly the same time. From what I gathered in the time I spent there, Jayson has to go on vacation to get away from all the morons who work for him.
