Perhaps your T-66's could be modified to spool better on a 346. It might be worth checking in to.

What is the current status of your motor? If it died, what caused it to die ? Without that info how can you really decide what to build?

You are right....untill it is apart nothing I can really plan. That is why I am looking at options. The engine is at the builder. The guess right now is that the top is out of round. Now was this caused by a bad block, the stroker pressure or the high boost we need to know. I guess when you go with a 4.0 crank you put pressure on the side load of the pistons. Funny thing is when the pistons were an inch fron the top the leak down was fine. Sounds like the block to me.We should know for sure by Tuesday.

Well I just got my car back from MTI equipped with a new 408.I am still breaking the car in and can't beat on it for another 300 miles.

This is pure torture!!!You have no idea how bad I want to go for a ride and see what she can do.

Well the car goes back in about a week for more timing, cage install and nitrous install.

given the bore size of ls2 you should have plenty affordable piston options.

I take it that you have a IRON Block 408? Did you notice any change with the extra 85lbs or so?

I have the iron block and a TTIX kit. I can feel no difference in driving it over the stock setup. I just think it is great. The block only cast me $650 new not $6500 like a C5R
Thanks Chuck

Gary,

I was hoping to see this thing at Bloomington Gold this year. The wife sounds pretty cool. But have the kids said anything to you about you spending their inheritance?

Wasn't there an FLP warranty on this project. 5 steps or 5 seconds whichever comes first.
