Is there one made with a nasty lope to it? I want to do heads/cam now and I'm 98% sure that I will go with a blower later but I really want a nasty sounding cam.
What is the power difference between, let's say, a G5-X3 or the MTI R1 or Y1 cams and a blower cam? Are we talking 10 hp or much more?
If we are talking a big difference I will probably just install a blower cam when the blower comes.
How many hours extra work would I be looking at if I do end up swapping cams with the blower install? Should I get the QTP two-piece cover now if I go the swap route? How much time will that cover actually save to justify the cost?
Thanks!

Great question, I am interersted in so Educated responses as well. I have asked the question before and got varying answers, but I think the key to a blower cam is 0 overlap if possible. The only problem is that usually cuts down on the nasty idle.
I have the G1 Cam in my car with FI. Its a 113 lobe so it very aggressive sounding. I figured if I lose a little power I can always put more boost in. I talked with Phil about my cam and he said I should gain mid-upper HP. The Y1 cam is WAY to much cam for FI. MTI told me they would only use this cam if it was off the trailer then race and then back on the trailer.
I should have a vid of my car posted on here within next few days.

Do you cam now and buy the blower cam for later... the is a big difference... I remember talking to a guy on LS1tech that had a TR224 112lsa and a ATI w/ a 3.8 pulley and could barely get 4# of boost out of it.
The tight lsa will bleed your boost of like crazy... I have a 218/222 on a 115 and running a 4.10 pulley getting 5-6# w/ no problems...
Don't worry about the QTP 2-piece timing cover cause if you do get a blower you will have to drop the steering rack again to pin the crank. unless you where to do it when you do the cam swap
So your saying by this LS1tech guy could only get 4psi out of a 112 huh. It will be intresting what boost they will show on my car with 113. I have had MANY talks with some of the smartest tuners and they all feel I will lose a little boost but not enough to worry about..
Ok, to clarify things, I am going to do heads and cam soon. It may be 3-6 months or longer before I do the blower. Here is what I want to know:
Is it worth it to put in an awesome power producting nasty **** cam now and have the extra power and then change it again when I go with the blower, or just put the blower cam in now? What will be the power difference?
Or maybe I should ask this: Can you run the blower cam without the blower?
It is kinda mild........but with that cam only LS1 and ECS's D1 kit I put down 550 hp to the rear wheels, stock cats, stock heads, stock block and 4.10's

That is some great numbers! And thanks for the clip. I may end up putting in the nasty cam now with the heads and then maybe changing it again when the KB 2 screw comes out.
Let me rephrase my last statement, that sounds pretty mild for 115LSA. The 02 Z06 cam is a 117LSA and seems to be a favorite of tuners who can get over 700rwhp with it.
