Been there, done that!

BTW DIYNOOB, 10 psi is nothing for the stock LS6, athough when you run out of fuel at 17 psi it doesn't hold up very well!

Yea, but, with the TT's he is making 10 lbs at 3500-3800 RPM and then carrying it to redline so there is more stress on the motor.

Hopefully it turns out to be something minor.

I have been running 9-11 lbs on the X kit with a stock motor for a while now without issue. Note that I have lowered the CR to 9.6 and do spray a little meth. FWIW. Crossing my fingers the combo holds together for a while longer.

Good Luck,

Mark

Car back at Campbell Automotive . Sounds like engine is done . Exact details to follow once they pull it.

Ordered the forged 408 with iron block . Looking into a fuel system from George @ TTi or a similar one that JerseyJay runs from ECS .

Could of done this right off the start ( the 408 ) , but figured the stock engine would last alittle longer than a couple of weeks .

Everyone has triple digits , time for the H.P. #'s to be in the quads !

Z06VET,

That SUCKS DUDE that it looks like your motor is toast only after a few weeks. I guess the only good news is that the forged 408 ironblock is going to be a KILLER SET-UP for your car.

Who you getting the 408 forged ironblock from as i see one of these in my future also (as i think that would make the perfect bad azz BIG HPower and STOUT motor even though it will add about 100 lbs to the front end. Big deal when your making 700rwhp+

BEST of luck to you on STRONG and FAST RETURN and better luck the second time around!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks man ,

Campbell Automotive is doing the buildup of the 408 . They started this project and I want them to finish it as well . Mark and Nolan are great guys and have plenty of powerful cars in their history. ( Mark and his Dad race their Campbell funny car ) I didn't even consider anyone else for this .

Already ordered the ARP heads , they are the longest wait for the engine . Block is here already and the rest of the parts are only a few days away. If it wasn't for the heads I could be back on the road in no time. The shop is a bit slower currently and they could focus on her.

Will keep you posted on the latest and greatest . Especially with the results on the original kaboom .

I want to make that into a t-shirt. Do you think if I printed a copy I could have that put on a shirt without looking cheap.
