Default got work to do....

well my totally built 4l60e is done, rebuilt that is. i had the 3 4 plates replaced. we are running one more plate but more importantly the forced mator tables in tha hp tuners have beed editted along with some other tables. hopefully the earlier failure was due to mot having the pressure rise at a fast engough rate. also the the table that controls that speed in which the throttle is oped was also editted. it was set a very value that would open the blade very slowly. it should be very intresting!

i put the new 2 post lift to use!

BTW THE CAR WILL BE DYNOED AFTER I LOG A FEW MILES ON THE TRANNY! ILL PUSH IT TO 20 LBS

That-a-boy!

I though you were out of injector at 15 psi? Are you planning on using AI to cover the additional amount of fuel required? What about your 2 bar MAP sensor, it won't live long at 20 psi!

Keep us up to speed Nick!

BTW, when are you coming up here to give me a ride!

Good luck Nick.

2 bar sensor should be fine. Pressure sensors usually have a robust overpressure range. Look at stock 1 bar sensor used with FI, I haven’t heard of too many problems.

That's nice to know, I thought I'd read they don't hold up well to over-pressure conditions.

I am getting itchy for a retune at 18 psi myself.
My 118* boot ends didn't work the way I wanted them too...that pushed me to look into spark plug wires...and this time I found the perfect GM wire. You can even use the metal guards that come on the stock wires.

Mighty Mouse off of LS1tech kept telling me to use stock wires..so I went back to the dealership.

I was able to talk the parts guy into letting me take one of each wire GM Truck wire 99-01 and 02-05 (9.25" and 10.50" respectively) out to my car to test fit...well neither one worked.

So when I went back to the counter he had the mother of all GM Spark Plug wires....7mm GM silicone, long 90* boot ends that accept the metal caps from the stock wires...and the perfect length..I about crapped when I put them on...better than cut to fit.

Glad those Chevy big blocks are good for something.

Anyway car is running so fn good, I am scared to even say it! So I need to get down to A&As for a hi test tune...see what my fuel system limitations are.

Andy has got his load cell running and the lastest version of HP Tuners software. He was telling me about all the cool stuff on it today. I told him I am trying to schedule a trip down soon. So we will see if the head studs can hold em down and the fuel system can keep up..because I ain't stoppin at 16#s this...of course I am beginning to question my boost gauges accuracy...it sits at 1-2psi when it is shut off...seems to me it should sit at Zero if it was calibrated correctly...but who cares...long as the afr is good and no kr...I don't really care what it reads.

your fuel system consists of? i spoke with sean about bosch pump stuffed in stock bucket. kevin my duty cycle @ 60 psi is 105%!
i will have to raise pressure of hook up the vacuum/boost to my regulator.
whats your duty cycle?

p.s vette looks cool on the lift in the air in my home garage, not something you see

Kevin,

Good to hear you've got the spark issues taken care of.. What were the part #'s for those GM wires?

It'll be great to see what you'll eventually see on the kit.. 18 or whatever. Keep the motor together since this is definitely a setup that's capable of more boost than maybe the limit for these motors.

I'll be able to play again soon since I've got my replacement motor delivered and will be installing that shortly.

Nick,

If you expect to take it to 20, you better get that duty cyle around 80-90 w/ your current boost levels, even w/ alky. Inching up will be cool on a load-dyno.. is that what you'll be doing it on?

first of all glad to hear about your engine!
no load dyno. i need to see where my duty cycle will be with the alchy.
spoke with jim@speed inc and he is a big hp 2 bar tuner and he told me that i need to wary when seeing 21 22 ms.
before going on the dyno ill see what happens when i hook up vacuum/boost line to regulator.

It'd be good to know you're not seeing 100plus w/ tweaks to the regulator. Keep us informed and good luck w/ the hp numbers.. btw, it's great to have the 2 bar help and you can see how close your stuff was.

having lift, air tools, tranny jacks and ect is cool when its in your own garage!!!

i spent a couple of hours on the the car, in a leisurely way, and pulled tranny and while its out ill change plugs. its very easy to get to the plugs with exhuast off and in the air. i dont think that tranny will be in tomorrow but the plugs and some other little things will be done.
ill work on it after work during the week, should be co,pleted by wensday

arnel you know what i mean
