PM Dolph.

He had a C5 and now has a 2005 Viper. He's still on the board.

His V10 is being rebuilt right now from the ground up for major FI.

My bro has a 97 GTS. Just had Heffner do his TT. 750 rwhp/801 rwtq on pump gas. 950 rwhp/1030 rwtq on race gas. Drives like stock till the boost hits (which takes milliseconds!). Didn't crack a valve cover on the engine, and did it in 4 weeks!

Any Viper up to '97 came from the factory with a forged motor. Excellent for FI! Nevertheless, any Viper with FI will make HUGE power!

I think I am going to go this route in the next year or so. I love my Vette so I will hang on to that, but rather than buying a new Z06 I wanna see what a clown shoe with turbos feels like.

I have a friend with both an LPE TT 427 and a TT 04 Viper. The Viper make 900 at the rear very easy. They use the same tranny as the C5...but the beauty of it, is that it (tranny) is mounted where a transmission should be mounted..and that is right up against the motor.....not 6' back from it. They are very strong at the drag strip...but seem to have fallin back quite aways on the road course races. I have seen Porsche's giving more competition than some of the Vipe's in LGs class.

The new gen Viper is going to be my next car....I only have a little ways to go before I have this one finished. Then I will be Viper shopping..and learning how to work on a Dodge again...actually had some Mopar powered vehicles before.

All vipers up to 99, and half of 2000 came from the factory with forged internals.

My brother's Viper is identically set-up as Gary's. The motor is forged from the factory unless you buy a late 2000 or later model. The TT with boost controller and AEM with all fuel system upgrades etc etc installed costs around 35K. Forged motor can be had for less than 10K. This is from Jason Heffner - the best in the business for FI vipers.

I have to say that I love my TT GTS. At 8lbs it makes 800/850. My Z almost makes that, but the Viper feels totally diffrent. It starts pulling at 2K rpm and doesn't let up until redline. There is no on boost/off bost transitional feeling. It just keeps pulling. RE cost: if you guys think the Vette tax is a problem. The Viper guys get bent over like no other...except well the exotics. Its true that the 96-99's come with forged motors, hence my decision to buy a '98, but I was told by my builder that anything over 800rhpw and the blocks starts to distort without billet mains and better studs. My setup could make more power, but I'm not willing to push it yet. Bottom line is...I love it! It took awhile to get everything done, but it was well worth it in the end. Big Blocks and turbos were made for each other.

$35-45K sounds about right - at least if you are comparing it to LPE.
