Default Turbo headers

The F body guys have the option of using truck manifolds for building a turbo kit on their cars, I don't think any of the factory LSx based headers/manifolds will work for a c5 turbo system due to interference issues. I was just looking at a picture of a new LS7 crate engine (see below) from another forum and noticed how much the factory C6 Z06 headers look like the ones HP uses for their TT kit (since the STC TT kit is laid out the same as HP's, I have to assume the STC headers look very similar to HP's). The flange is different, but the headers themselves dump close to where the HP headers do.

The hardest part about building a turbo kit is w/o a doubt building the headers. If indeed the C6 Z06 headers fit in the C5, then it looks like a home made front mount TT kit just got a lot easier to build! This is a big assumption, but they do look very much like the HP headers.

It's not a problem with the STS kit. In fact, you do not have to buy headers at all.

You're talking about mounting the turbos in the fenders? I'll admit, designing a header is tough, but are you really going to design the rest of the kit too, after having bought the LS7 headers? TT kits are a lot more difficult on the C5 than on a mustang or F-body.

I'm sure you could find somekind of manifold to fit.Either a truck or F-body or even a GTO.

I think the drivers side manifold is the hard part, too many obstructions. I know 6 L truck manifold works on passenger side.

Having installed my TT kit myself, I can agree with Skunk. The driver side is a major pain to fit ANYTHING into. You have motor mounts, steering columns, alternator/power steering pump and equipment... and on some cars (mine) you also have the ABS/TCM module. It's ugly!

As others are mentioning, because of the drivers side the above options don't fit. Obviously I don't know about this LS7 header, but it looks like it might fit (going by memory).

I'm not looking to build a turbo kit, just trying to give someone an idea.
