Well..... I have double checked the wires to the starter and they look correct. Checked the head lights, they work( come up and turn on ). Checked all the fueses in both in the engine compartment and the ones by the BCM. Nothing.
Right before the iginition switch gets to the 'start' position, there is a single 'click' sound in the area of the BCM, dash goes dark, and nothing..... Moving the iginition switch back to the 'on' position from the 'start' position, there is two 'click' sounds, and then all appears to be ok.
Both of the vobs are dead in that they do nothing. Should I take the keys/vobs to the stealership to get fixed? My God this is so frustrating
You get a single click when your starter tries to turn? Dead battery or bad connection somewhere, retighten battery connections and try jump starting.
Good luck,
Mike
Correct a single click sounds right around the BCM area. The battery is brand spanking new and I have rechecked the the battery connections and all is tight.
When the iginition switch is in the 'on' position, everything seems to get power and appears working.
Could you take a close look at voltage gage when trying to turn engine over. I had some problems with C5 electrical system and when it didn’t want to start (charging and other issues) it acted like yours. As soon as starter was engaged voltage would avalanche or fall below 8VDC and as soon as starter load was removed voltage would rebound back to 11.5-12 VDC. With my car it turned out to be positive battery connection and main ground. Oh, car was only 9 months old at that time.
