A few people were asking about this piece in another thread so I wanted to post a pic here. This is the BBK Cold Air Intake kit for LSx. I ordered it from Jeg's, and somehow they sent me the titanium powder coat finish instead of the chrome finish. They took care of me and overnighted the chrome piece (told em it was a Christmas present... which it was... to myself ).
Since I had the titanium piece still here, and since Jegs' site does NOT have a pic of the chrome piece, I figured I'd post a pic of them side by side.
The piece also comes with an airfilter, clamps, and some hose, but us FI guys generally have no use for that stuff since we are already fully plumbed The piece costs about $350 and comes with a pre-drilled hole for an IAT sensor if you have a separate IAT/MAF setup. It also comes with a rubber plug if you have a combined IAT/MAF setup.
That’s a niece casting. I certainly don’t think anyone will split it on C5.
Exactly... this thing is bulletproof. My old airbridge was plastic -- this one will allow me to throw on some nice t-bolt clamps and tighten them down without worrying about crushing the bridge.

Thanks for posting your comments. I'm getting ready to put the STS kit on and was wondering on what I was going to do with the air bridge. I like the chrome one for sure. Does it look as good in person? Good finish?

Yeah, it does look pretty good in person. The only thing I'm not totally happy with is the BBK logo on the bridge. The chrome is so thick that a lot of the detail in the logo is lost. I wish they would have offered this piece without the logo.
Having the logo ground off the powder coat version and then chroming it might be a better option.
what did you all use to grind the emblem off? I already blew up one airbridge and i currently have another, the one that blew up was atock for a 00 the one i have now if from a buddy of mine's 03. that one is holding up so far, how hard would it be to grind the loho off?
I'd imagine you could just use a dremel and then the different compounds to polish it.
You could, but it's probably worth paying a pro shop a hundred or so to grind it and polish it. I've tried polishing stuff with a Dremel and you can never get a uniform polished finish. Pro shops have nice polishing machines which will make the piece look real nice.
Personally I prefer chrome over polished aluminum because of maintenance -- polished aluminum, unless clearcoated, requires constant attention to keep clean.
Actually, just attempting ascertain whether or not 4" straight pipe is a benefit vs. this (BBK) vs. Volant (LPE?). Probably not for most...
LPE seems to have no problem running regular airbridge.
Is there an advantage/disadvantage at over 10 PSI.?
I have actually already decided for myself which way to go. If this (BBK) is holding 18 PSI, we know a well built 4" custom pipe will hold 35 psi and I also also know the LPE setup will hold 15 psi.
