My car was mail order tuned by Ed Wright and I'm getting HP tuners, will I have a problem with the tune that in it? I know he (Ed Wright) locks them but will the dealer be able to tune back to stock then I use HP tuners? I read somewhere if you try to tune over his tune it will fry the computer!

I don't know how you could "fry" your computer...as for the tune being locked not sure how to go about that...may wanna ask in the Scan and Tune forum....as for the dealer overwriting your HP tune....if you let them reflash the PCM yes it will overwrite it...with HP you should have your program saved so you can reinstall it..HP is fast as hell anyway....

If his program is locked, then you can't change it so nothing will happen. If it isn't locked, then the new programmer will simply replace what's inside with the new info in the program.

A tech II dealer flash will almost always be able to rewrite a corrupt(locked) PCM. The can to a full reflash/overwrite with all the current dated modules.

I had a similar situation with an Ed Wright programmed PCM... had my PCM flashed to stock by a dealer. Then the tuner tried to flash and tune with my new LS1 Edit software and did "fry" the PCM. Had to get a new one from carputing. Check on the C5 scan and tune section and you will get more information.
