Default TTiX Question.....

Are you TTiX guys running the kit as delivered? I seem to remember an older thread that mentioned the intercooler being swapped out for an ECS unit. Are there any other components, from the kit, that you guys would upgrade before install?

The FMIC that comes with the TTi X kit is more than adequate. The issue was the way people were mounting them (heavily restricting air flow).

My car was used to test a few different ways to mount the IC and the installation instructions have since been revised.

The only component in the X kit I would change/upgrade/replace is the plastic air bridge. I decided to run a pipe as I reasoned that would be more reliable long term when spraying meth as well as running > 10-12 lbs of boost.

Cheers,

Mark

Did you lay down the radiator to fit the pipe?

Lowered, but not layed down.

The following thread has a little more info and a pic:
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1360740

That is very similar to my setup.

No, I didn't feel comfortable deinstalling the supercharger and installing the turbos without significant assistance (plus the closest thing I have to tools is a screw driver set and a brad nailer).

RoadRebel, who is also on the forum, did the install and tune.

Cheers,

Mark

The issue with the intercooler has recently been addressed. It has more to do with placement and "closeout". If the kit was install as per instructions with no additional thought by the installer virtually no air would flow thru the core.
The current kit should now have the IC located lower so 1/3 of it is not blocked and some additional pcs and information on how to properly closeout the front to push air thru the core is available.

Air for the airbridge, anything abot 9psi will be a pain to deal with. It can be replaced with a fabricated tube as Mark posted or you can used the BBK aluminum bridge. Regardless of boost, if Alky is used I would personally NOT use the plastic bridge.

There were also numerous refinements to the kit that were implemented with the input of past installers.

Mark that might be the funniest thing I have ever seen....

There are a few things that are modified from the kit. The modifications are pretty simple and seem to greatly improve the effectiveness of the IC.

The only other things that can will need to work our are the upper pipe, related to lowering the radiator and you might have to fabricate some exhaust depending on what you are using. I am using the stock Z mufflers and a Corsa X-pipe. I had to fabricate about a three foot section between the down pipes and the X pipe. Not to big of a deal.

The thread that he referred to are my car. RoadRebel is a big help and I will do anything I can to help you.

I was thinking, a better way to install the IC would be horizontally as a replacement for the radiator shroud. This would allow more air into the area in front of the radiator and contain the high pressure zone against both surfaces. The IC air flow would pass over the top of the radiator and help air flow to cool the engine compartment. But you'd have to rework the inlet and outlet of the IC. Also, this would seperate the IC from the slightly hotter radiator surface . When I had the A&A P1 kit you could definately feel the heat soak on the IC if you had been sitting for a short time, especially if the AC is running.
