My guess is that the belt was the original and was frayed or chewed slightly when the shop was first installing / aligning everything. Just a hunch. 500 miles per belt is crazy. You should get at least 600 or 700 miles.

ive owned 4 blowers now and broke one belt b/c I didnt put it on all 6 ribs. I boost my car all the time pretty much everyday. All kits have had stock tensioners.
ECS Paxton does not use the stock tensioner. That being said, my ATI Procharger with the stock bracket threw belts all the time. So far, the ECS Paxton has been rock solid
There has to be an easier way to get this belt on. Anybody try making a tool to get to it from the top?
I could move the tensioner from the bottom with a large screwdriver, but not enough to get the belt on without a real problem
A custom tool may make the job gravy. I can get a 14mm socked on the bolt that holds the tensioner, but dont have a tool to get on there to turn it. Maybe weld a steel rod to a socket?
I thought ECS either had a tool or was in the process of developing a tool to hold the tensioner open which would allow a single person to install a belt.
