been thinking of switching to an LS2 intake(port matching it) and LS2 90mm throttle body when I build my new motor.. Wonder how that will do with boost compared to an LS6 intake and stock 78mm throttle body ....Anyone tried it???
I have done that exact test. I did the change over without taking the car off the dyno. I compared a stock LS6 manifold and stock TB, compared to an LS2 with a 90mm. The results were about a 10 ft/lb advantage LS6 at below 5000rpm and an advantage of about an equal amount above 6000RPM to the LS2 90mm TB. If you send me an email I will forward the scanned graph. If you would like to post it that is fine with me. I do not know how to post the scanned graph. These graphs were off my D1SC 346" @ about 14Lbs, 700rwhp
Maybe, I was not clear. If I knew how, I would post the scanned dyno sheet. The LS6 stock manifold on reworked LS6 heads produced a maximun of 10 ft/lbs more power below the 5000rpm range. The LS2 manifold with a 90mm was about equal from 5K to 6K rpm's The LS2 from 6k to 6.7K picked up about 8 ft/lbs (10hp) over the LS6 with stock TB.
I hope this clarifies it for you.
