Default Fastest IRS Record

I think to this day we hold the title of the fastest IRS vette. If I am wrong please let me know, I would love to hear about other fast IRS vettes.

Here is a video of mine....http://speedwaycorvettes.com/IRSfastestC4.html 8.40 @ 173 back in the summer of 2002.

That sounds like it. Paul Major ran 8.71 last year. I know a Turbo People Viper with an IRS ran 7.99 last year as well. You may have the Corvette IRS record.

You ask why I know....

Keep an eye on this space !

PS. Is that car still together? I heard it was broken up. I hope I am wrong. If it is still running how about bringing it down to the Vette Doctors Pro 8 for some competition?

Bill

Nice looking huffer back there! You've tried everything but a blower/turbo! Good luck with it.

I assume you're keeping it a six speed?

I'm pretty sure Bill is using the turbo400 tranny from Paul Major.

We are hoping to run an 8 supercharged but I doubt if we will get close to Paul Major's C5 run.

Yes,

It is now an AutoMatic using the Yank TH400 setup Paul and the Vette Doctors perfected.

Allan,

Tell Doug and Chris to stop wasting time on the blue car and for god sake finish the Green Car! You have been waiting way too long for that thing!

Very Cool I stand corrected I guess I will have to stand for the C5 record. I heard about this car a while back but no one was able to give me a link to it very impressive. I hope we get to see that car at some up comming events.

Bill

You now have a nice goal set for you. I don't expect it to be a problem

I have to say its been difficult to be patient. However, we are getting close. Most parts have been fabricated and are out to be powdercoated. This coming week I will be fit for the floor pedals/seat spacing etc. Floor pans going in now that the 25-2 structure is in place. When it comes out and you see it - you will understand the design that has gone into the car. A huge amount has been custom designed and fabricated for optimizing its capability while sticking with our goal to use a stock hood on a front mount large single turbo. The only two limiting questions will be the LSx powerplant (waiting for a warhawk to come out) and the capability of the driver. Assuming enough power - definately a car requiring an advanced ET license.

Yes the car is still together. The only thing different in it now is that the turbo has been changed from the old 100mm to a newer 101mm and now the car has a fab 9 rear end with a four link.

I had sold the car but I am in the process of buying it back.

Crower custom cam
100mm turbonetics turbo
turbo 400 reverse manual
felpro
and too much other stuff to list.
