Default How much for forged bottom??

I want to start my way towards FI for my Z06, and figure starting with a forged bottom end would be best. I currently have H/C with nitrous, eventually want to ditch the nos and get an A&A or ECS kit. In the meantime, however, I would feel much better using the nos on a forged motor, w/nos I am ~550 rwhp. So, how much am i looking at to have the bottom end forged and any other costs that are needed? Oh, and I will have to have this done somewhere, i do not have the resources nor the skill to do it myself. Let me know. Thanks.

How much labor goes in to swapping that in? I can only imagine!

Just under $4,000 (assuming you are using your existing block and crank). This price might be a bit higher than you see advertised around the forum, but that price includes ARP main studs, JE pistons, Howard rods, heavy duty timing set, etc.

Add another $400 for a custom cam and $2,200 - $2,500 for top notch heads with Comp 921 springs.

Install and tune is around $1,500 - $2,000.

I was checking out your site last night, I got a card from some young guy (can't remember his name) at the baymont during CI VII. He was giving me some FI 101 and the rundown on fastcashdave's car and stuff. Anyhow, right now I have custom ported ls6 heads, new valves, springs, chromoly pushrods, along with a mild cam. It gives me 450 at the wheels. What would be my best bet for a shortblock? I'm not looking for crazy #'s, 550-600 at the wheels(after the supercharger) would be fine. Let me know. Thanks.

Yep. Same pricing. The core is within $200 of the LS6, but that would be irrelevant if you already had an LS2.

for your goals I would do a 347ci forged bottom end and use the diamond -8.6cc pistons to bring your compression down to 9.6(assuming a 65cc chamber on your LS6 heads), then with your current setup and 6-7psi or so 550-600rwhp is easy. later if you wanted to up the boost your engine is built to handle it.
Our standard 347ci shortblock is $3199(no core required)

Is that with labor and tune? Will a tune even be required? Thanks.

That's already a VERY good price. No labor is not included neither is tuning. But believe me, $3150 is good for a 346, moreover you don't hear anything bad about FFHP motors. You can check it by yourselfat LS1TECH, these guys stand behind their products. I will let FFHP chime in!
Everyone knows that speed costs money, but I don't think you'll regret it!!
Good luck bro

installed and tuned add $1500.00(dyno time included, no hidden costs)
yes tune would bee needed, as some changes would need to be made for the tune due to new compression ratios
