Default Nitrous Kit help

Ok- here is how I wired my 5177 kit, MSD Window Switch, and Dynotune TPS.(THANKS TO NXRICKY) The window switch comes on and cycles thru, reads my rpms and seems to be working fine. The TPS is set where the light comes on when I hit WOT.

My problem is the solenoids are not working at all. We even tested the lead wire off the relay and it had no voltage coming out of it at all. Anybody know what the problem could be?

When I put mine together last month I had the same issue at first. I'm not using a TPS but a WOT switch under gas pedal so the diagram I made up for my setup looks a little diferent.

The best suggestion I got on the boards was to use a light tester and determine if my power was going where I thought it was when it was supposed to be. Are your solenoids getting power (or being grounded) at the right time, the lighted circuit tester was the easiest way for me to check as I was running solo in my garage.

The way you have it wired it should actually work, but it would not provide you much protection, as your TPS isnt doing anything. The switches should be in series.

First Arming Switch, then TPS, then MSD. The way you have it in your diagram, you are running the arming switch and TPS in parallel.

I'm not worth a crap at wiring- can you explain how I would do this? Is it basically just tying into the wires at different locations?

I found this interesting.
"The way you have it wired it should actually work, but it would not provide you much protection, as your TPS isnt doing anything. The switches should be in series. "

How is the tps not doing anything?

The tps is controlling the HOT to the Relay. These are in series.
hot from the switch to the tps then
tps to relay coil +,
now relay coil - to to MSD window switch,
window switch to ground.
The drawing is fine, there is either a break in the connection points, window switch not in the window, or a bad components.

Let me claify... The way its wired, you are powering the MSD with the arming switch. The MSD should be on all the time and be powered by a switched 12v positive... that is keyed on with the car.

The entire system is based on the keyed 12v arming sw. So, it is as you say allready, except for being on all the time.

When I find a teacher then maybe. You are the one that explained a diagram wrong.
There is no need to have a window switch keyed on if you are not going to use nitrous. Its a waste.
So please do not bang on me, you are the one that made it seem MY diagram was wrong.
There are 1000's of ways to wire a car and make it work.
I did not bang your diagram, but your comments. Take with a grain a salt, don't care.

Which are you thinking of getting, Z06 or C5? Can't go wrong with either, however, the Z06 will run circles around the standard C5 in every catagory. But, if your going the heavy mod route, then a C5 coupe is a better deal concerning overall cost. Check out the fast Z06 times thread in the Z06 section, for insight on what the Z can do from the get go. Good luck on your choice if you do decide to get one.

your welcome,
I am sure it will work out, I believe there is an order in the system with a few small parts heading your way.
