What is the most boost you can run with a 99a4 ls1 stock block with the exception of headers,x-pipe,catback before you need to update the fuel system or run into any problems? I have P1SC(7psi) with a descent tune . I know the tranny is on borrowed time.

My installer said 7lbs is about it to keep it safe. He runs 9+ and has internals done.

what are you making rwhp? My tuner also told me the same thing. I just was wondering what I could get away with. I am at 462rwhp and I want to be over 500rwhp

Mine hasn't been on a dyno...from internet research and reading have heard 550 is pusing the limit. My installer's car makes over 700 on Meth and 9lbs.

You know people always come here, what is the most boost I can run, what is the most power I can make. My comment is not at all meant to be negative.. here is what I can say.

How on the edge are you comfortable running?

I ran 10 psi in the cold on the Z with a stock fuel system, with a racetronix pump and harness. Is this safe? With a 10.5:1 compression motor, it made 575 to wheels before the headers. The AFR was good, the fuel pressure fell off up top but it was consistent. I ran 18 degrees of timing and tuned the car to 11.5:1 AFR.

I don't consider this to be a conservative tune. That being said, I monitor my stuff and tune my own car. If I were doing this for someone that would take the car out in the 95+ heat and rag it I would not set it up that on the edge.

I think if you expect to run on the edge and are prepared to pay the consequences, you can push it. Less than 500 rwhp is no where near pushing it to me. If you are pushing 550, that is getting there. You need to check the fuel pressure and see what your tolerance is for potential damage. If you are in no position to deal with rebuilding the motor, than limit your potential. The difference between 470 and 500 hp is not going to damage the motor, the difference between 500 and 600 could. Again it is all what your tolerance for potential problems is.

When I was pushing 600 on the stock bottom end and it came apart.. you certainly would not have heard me coming here complaining about blowers or the vendor or anthing else...

I've been running 10lbs on my 04 A4 for about 3500 miles, right at 500rwhp. Car is running great. Fuel pressure is starting to become a problem in the Florida heat though.

I run 6.5 - 7 lbs and making 590rwhp @ 90 degree air temps. As long as the tune is done correct the motor will be fairly safe as long as you have good gas. Never say never with an F/I motor. Things can always happen. Just be prepared for a negative end result.
Kinda like if you have to ask how much something would cost its probably too expensive.
I know of a local guy who bought a 02 Z06 with a head and cam package that was not tuned very well and blew #7 piston going lean during his first SSCA event in the car. He had the car for a total of 2 months. That sure would suck .

running 8 psi on my car now....thinking seriously of get meth since its so f**king hot down here...my biggest problem is keeping the temps down...I think I will eventually end up getting a Dewitts radiator. Its fine during the evening but during the day in the 90 degree heat and high humidity

running 11 to 12 psi on stock 99 with racetronic pump, hotwire kit and 42lb injectors. but at 550rwhp it is maxing out the injectors with 58psi on fuel system.

I ran and the car still runs (sold) 14lbs on the stock motor (except valve springs). It's all in the tune.Car made real good midrange but I tuned down the peak #'s almost 100rwhp.
