I own a 2004 coupe...How do i go about converting this to the 97-98 return style?
Well I did the conversion on my car.. but it is a 2002.
I have all of the part numbers for that transformation.
In some other discussions I remember someone saying on a later 2003 and up it would also take the fuel tanks, crossovers, on top of all of the parts I swapped.
I would contact Gene from Karshop, maybe he would have the used parts for your conversion. For me it was about $450 for the parts and $220 for a BAP, which I probably don't need. But by the time you spend the extra on the tanks, this part and that.. it might be better for you to switch to an APS or ECS system... IMO
I took Nicks advice and ordered the 97-98 Return style system. I already have the C5 Racetronixs fuel system, 60lb injectors, and KB Bap. The fuel pump might be upgraded to a Bosch or go with dual Walbro's. That will be up to Dr. Phil once he gets my car..
FFS systems (as you know) are a different beast than everything prior to them. Your conversion can be done, but it will not be a matter of just putting a bunch of parts together. The FFS system has the fuel regulator, fuel filter, and fuel return all inside the tank. The fuel sender can only be accessed by dropping the tank, since it loads into the tank from the top.
I would recommend calling ECS and telling them what your goals are. Even if you don't need their complete fuel kit, there are components in it that will help you convert to a return at the rails style system.
