Default New to Corvettes - need pointers

Hi All,

I am a convert from the other brand and am looking for some fast tips and pointers on FI to the C5.

All help appreciated as I am open to both supercharging and turocharging. I would like to use the system as a growth platform for the future (C5 is now stock).

TIA

1. decide what you want to do with the car.
2. search this site for info.
3. decide how much additional maintance you are willing to put up with.
4. define your budget. (include the price for what you think you want and then figure on 1.5X that for stuff that just comes up)
5. plan on a forged bottom end sooner or later. (sooner rather than later if you go above 550rwhp)
6. investigate the costs of keeping your drive train intack. (if you stay at 550rwhp or less then the cost are low ie new clutch, unless you plan of drag radials or god forbid slicks).

IMO FI is great only if you come prepared to pay for it, having a broken car that you cannot afford to fix is a real bummer.

Save yourself a fortune and untold downtime - start with a forged motor and twin turbos.

TTi, Lingenfelter (LPE), and APS (to be released in a few weeks) make excellent kits.

Save and build for the turbos . They won't hear you coming

until it's too late.

Ive had a magnacharger kit on mine for about 4 months now, and Im not real happy with it. Lots of belt problems. Some people have overheating problems with them too. Just a little FYI.

1. get a high mileage bargain C5, like a bank-repo
2. get an A&A kit... best bang for the buck includes injectors
3. Racetronix fuel pump kit and wiring...
4. find a bargain LS6 or 2001+ LS1 instake here on CF
5. install a cam...

That's what I did.

My post was no disrespect to Nicks combo. I merely posted what I like and what I think is best for the majority of people.

I have a low-mileage LS6 intake off of my Z06 that I might be willing to sell.
