So, I added a new intake manifold and side brake ducts. Couple of hours to do the intake and 16 hours on the brake ducts. Think it makes the car look much better...
I think what got him the trophy was the mirror from his bathroom that he brought with him.........so people could see his bugs and dirt on the intercooler....
Looks great, I thought about one of those intakes myself to dress up the engine bay a little. Who well do they flow compared to the LS6 intake?
Don't know for sure. Car feels just as fast or faster if I lost 10-20rwhp I doubt I would feel it any at 600rwhp. And it has a removable plate on the bottom so you can port it if you want...
I have always liked the Weiand intake. The only thing that's stopped me from picking one up is the reported (real or not) heat soak issues. It gets so hot down here I am hesitant to do anything else to the car that would make it more prone to heat. In other states it won't matter as much, I bet, but down here if it can get hot, it will.

The heat soak issue is a bunch of BS..It get hot as hell here in south Texas. Sure when its parked it gets as hot as the motor. But as soon as you drive it for a couple of mins its cooled off. I drove yesterday for 45mins, 98* outside as soon as I got home and parked the car I lifted the hood and put my hand on the intake and it was just warm to the touch. Not hot at all...
Chris, I bought a pair of 8"x5" NACA ducts I am going to put in for rear brake ducts. I am not a fiberglass/body guy at all, but I am an able bodied mechanical person (did my own A&A S/C install etc.).
Do you think I could pre paint the ducts, cut the holes, attach to the inside of rear stock skirts, and put a little filler in, sand and use touch up paint?
Or should I find someone like you to do the thing right?

Looks good Chris!
If I could offer a suggestion, flip the clamps to the underside of the intake tube and it will leave a smoother look to them since the bolt will not be seen.

Problem is that you really cant brush silver and make it look right. It will come out dark. You will probably have to find a painter to help you out...
