The continued bashing, hijacking and constant bickering over what FI system is best needs to STOP!! Everyday I come to this section and there seems to be a war going on about which system is best or who makes the best power whether is is someone defending what they have and who has has "proof" etc. I have recieved numerous PM's from a couple of you and the reported posts are getting more frequent. If you don't agree with someone thats fine everyone is entitled to their opinion. If you can't get along then perhaps you need to find another forum.

Eh... bans (permanent and temporary) should be used only in the most extreme situations, imho. Hopefully we can just play nice in the FI sandbox, I hate to see ANY regular poster in the FI forum get banned.

Someone else made this suggestion somewhere else in another thread, but honestly I think a lot of the crap in here could be solved by adding people you don't get along with to your ignore list.

I wish real life had an ignore list function

With hundreds of thousands of different personalities roaming around these premises, there is bound to be some conflict. Specially when there are men and cars involved. Women a close second. If men having hissy fits about their stupid cars is not it line with the forum them by all means do what you guys do best, "Vacation Time at Camp Hissy Fit". This may weed out some of them permanently, others will come back. I think a pretty good checks and balances type of system.

Bannage is absolute Ownage but I dont think it will solve the problem. They might have to shut down the C5 FI/Nitrous for good but that would still not solve the problem as the seasoned here will find General and even C5 Parts and continue to make attempts of owning each other via using their keyboards

I honestly can almost see into the future that these seasoned ones will someday be found bashing, hijacking and constant bickering over each others' system in C1&C2 Parts, Factory Correct Resto and even in Car Care Section.

Well......... there is one thing that could be done. Just open back the Babe Section................................. ......

wholeheartedly... however, we all know the rules and the law breakers are a small minority of repeat offenders. It's usually the same individuals that start the pointless attacks and treat the C5 FI/Nitrous section like their own personal soapbox.

"Ignore" should be used, I agree, but that is just fixing the symptoms and not solving the underlying problem.

In Off Topic, for example, we get extremely rough - yet everyone knows the rules and the vast majority never step over the line that will get us moderated , suspended or banned.

All I am saying is the law breakers here in FI/Nitrous are a known commodity and should be dealt with as needed.

Now, now, let's not get EG on a roll.

Maybe when, or if, people will read this post, do what I do. When a thread starts going sour, simply leave it. That's what I do. I'll still look at it if they keep going but generally I will not post unless something is stated that I directly have knowledge about. Someone will always have to have the last word and that is what keeps the thread going South. Most of the bickering starts when one or both of the parties don't know what they are talking about. In other words, one sided.

95% of the guys in this forum (With the exception of OT) are GROWN MEN. Many of whom spend many many many thousands of dollars with our supporting vendors. I have personally probably paid the next 20 years worth of CF dues for more than one vendor. If I was to be banned it would cost CF "vendors" a minimum of 50-75 grand in lost sales over the next few years.

I absolutely agree that if you break forum rules you be dealt with in a professional manner. That does NOT mean banning someone for life from a site that is funded by paying customers.

Do we sometimes get out of line???? Absolutely.

Do you get out of line when your hanging out with your friends at the house??? Absolutely.

Does your friend kick you out of his home for good?? NO (Unless you slept with his wife )

What I am saying is, is banning someone should ONLY be done in the most severe cases. Those cases should be based off of whether or not the member is DIRECTLY harming either the Corvette Forum or a member, and NOT because he said something that was against forum guidelines.

You dont get arrested everytime you get caught speeding. You get a ticket.....

There are times when a thread is started that runs VERY personal to someone. This might be because a vendor has been, lets just say "Less than professional" OR maybe there is a specific member that is a complete jerk. Unfortunately it causes people to get worked up and start pounding away on the keyboard. I have personally done it on a few occasions. In these cases we as members should maybe send a PM to the member telling him that he might want to cool his jets before he gets a slap on the wrist.

Or as some members want, COMPLETE AND TOTAL BANNAGE, consisting of the CF police to come to their house and reposess their computer and kick their dog.....

**EDIT** The KB S/C is the best....

Stephen brought this up in the steering section.

I think a professional standards & ethics committee of three, that have nothing do with any vendor would be in order.

People have a right (license) to post here without personal attacks. I know several professionals that will not post here, due to the very rude manners of a few.

This is very effective on the Z06vette.com forum. If someone gets out line, either Mike or about ten other guys will get them. He draws a line, makes it very clear and if they step over it, there are reprocussions, including good bye. Very respectful there and people get to disagree all the time. I think I see one issue, once or twice a month.

Is also fairly annoying, that moderator has to play kindergarten cop and few days later they are back to mudslinging ignoring what ever he told them.

It was disappointing for me to watch

Kevin getting kicked for his PTK.
Then Jeff for doing his Kenne Bell, which got worse when had his backed turned and was away from his computer.
Then Garret for his good results.
Others.

I tried learn from the above and have not posted my information until it is complete, but still have been relentlessly hounded.
