So in essence methanol is gas line anti-freeze? How fast does it need to be replenished? If I am not in the boost range 95% of the time then I anticipate that I wouldn't be using too much anyhow?

Using the ECS/Julio alky kit the average usage seems to be aprox 3 tanks of gas to 1 window-washer tank of meth.
Your results may vary!

Locally here in So Cal, at my local speed shop, I buy 5gal of 99% meth for $32.00 + tax.

I got my 99% Methanol at a local go Kart shop. 1 gal = $4.00. I took 5 passes at the strip and it looks like it used apx. 1/8 of the windshield washer tank.

Thanks for all of your responses. I kind of feel inadequate at my measly power numbers anyway.

At the track, Meth is between $3.50 and $4.00 / gallon. You can order a 5 gallon container to hold it at just about any race supplier. Buying the ethanol from Home Depot is currently about $13 / gallon. Like Doug said, ok in a pinch but quite a bit more than it should cost.
