You mean L-92 heads and block Interesting to see if the issues with the L-76 intake get resolved.

With the kind of boost pressure you like to run, I would wait a bit and get the LSX ironblock + 6 bolts a head cylinder heads when they come to the market in early spring.

Then you'll have to back-half your car to handle the power.

Thought there were two different heights being offered. 9.3 and 9.7 something.

Here is link.

give me your thoughts
There are some issues with consistency of wall thickness on the L92 blocks - looks like GM has some toolling/process issues as the liners are shifting to one side during casting. Once that is worked out, it's a good platform.

However, since you are building now, my 2 cents goes to a re-sleeved LS2 (longer sleeves from"nickasil") or the new GMMP iron monster.

For a rototating assembly I'd stay with a 4" stroke, eagle crank, eagle rods and Wysco or JE pistons. CL-77 bearings, hellfire rings & mellings pump.

Thick deck heads are the way to go for high boost (above 15 lbs) and to maximize you'll want an LS7 style head - the only head manufacturer I am aware of that presently meets that criteria is ETP.

The larger motor is probably a much better fit for the big turbos he got over the summer.

Hehe... just my way of keeping him from going too big

If I were to do it again, I'd go LS2, keep the 3.6" bore and do the L92's but that's me... For you Nick, those ETP LS7's look awfully good and I'd still go iron if you want it to live long above 1k hp/tq!! Unless, of course, this is an annual thing..

LSx block is due out next spring and according to GM Tech magazine (GREAT article on it in this months issue), it'll have a street price of less than $2k. The block is standard bore of 4.125 and can take a stroke of up to 4.500" (tall deck version). Nice piece and cheaper than a WarHawk (the WarHawk is Al though). Good Luck!
